We live in a society where good is often portrayed as bad and bad is portrayed as good. Leftist organisations are villified while the rich corporations they protest against are ruining the planet and social environment. I often try to put this situation in the frame of religion. We are told there is a righteous party and a wrong one but can we trust that information. With God as a totalitarian ruler, is he/she/they truly benign? The devil was a revolutionary, what if he had the best intentions for us in mind? And if the forces of hell are actually righteous, aren’t they just feeding into the plan of the rulers by protesting/fighting?Questions like these lead to paintings like this.
